Qipao Town: A Unique Logo and Visual Identity

Qipao Town, located in Shengjiaku at the main core area of Wujiang, inherits the thousand-year prosperity of Wujiang and showcases the elegant and graceful Jiangnan lifestyle. The town also celebrates the splendid silk culture, which is characterized by the Qipao and its derivative industries.

The logo designed by Dongdao Creative Branding Group is a graphical representation of Qipao Town's identity. It features the image of a Jiangnan lady wearing a Cheongsam, a traditional Chinese dress, and the image of Suzhou-style architecture. The brushwork of Mr. Guanzhong WU, a renowned master in painting and drawing, was extracted to generate the logo in a modern and abstract manner. The gable roof in the logo resembles both an eave and an oiled paper umbrella held by a Jiangnan lady, elegantly combining these elements.

By incorporating the intrinsic landscape characteristics of small towns in the South of the Yangtze River, the logo reflects the concept of silk culture. Qipao Town aims to become a characteristic base that integrates industry, tourism, and culture.

The logo design for Qipao Town was a response to the challenge of distinguishing it from other Chinese towns in the realm of cultural tourism. While many cultural brands adopt common features, Dongdao Creative Branding Group sought to create a unique visual identity that would set Qipao Town apart.

The project started in March 2016 in Shanghai and was completed in May 2016. The design team, led by Dongdao Creative Branding Group, conducted extensive research to ensure the logo captured the essence of Qipao Town and its rich cultural heritage.

This exceptional design by Dongdao Creative Branding Group has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness. The logo for Qipao Town exhibits strong technical and creative skills, contributing to the improvement of quality of life and making the world a better place.
